Nurse educators are overburdened and underresourced. Working long hours reminiscent of hospital shifts, taking significant pay cuts compared to full-time nursing roles, and enduring the relentless challenges of not having enough fellow faculty or even the resources to effectively teach students. They carry on because of their deep-seated passion for teaching.

Despite all the challenges, educators remain committed to helping students not just graduate and pass the NCLEX but be fully prepared with the confidence and competence to thrive in clinical practice. Still, the nurse readiness crisis persists. With 93% of nursing graduates passing their NCLEX-RN licensure exam but only 9% fully prepared for clinical practice, educators can feel stuck without the support, tools, or recognition they deserve and need to help students succeed.

In 2025, UbiSim is stepping up with a mission to N.U.R.S.E.—Nurture, Uplift, and Retain Skilled Educators. Through this year-long initiative, UbiSim plans to bring much-needed attention and advocacy to the critical role of nurse educators, empowering them with innovative solutions like VR simulation and fostering a community of support to address the challenges they face.

A Year of Advocacy and Support for Nurse Educators

To amplify the voices of nurse educators and create actionable solutions, UbiSim will:

Host Ready to N.U.R.S.E Monthly Webinars
Engage with nursing industry leaders as they share expertise on crucial topics such as competency-based education, nursing self-care, and the transformative power of virtual reality in nursing education.

Release Nurse Education-Focused Blogs
Each webinar will be complemented by in-depth blog posts that delve into the featured topics, offering insights and strategies for nurse educators to implement in their programs.

Bolster a Collaborative Online Community
UbiSim will maintain a welcoming and inclusive space in the online community that is open to all nurse educators to foster meaningful discussions, share best practices, and provide ongoing support throughout the year.

Offer VR Platform to Bridge Theory and Practice
Central to the Ready to N.U.R.S.E. campaign is UbiSim’s VR education platform, a transformative tool that bridges the gap between classroom learning and clinical practice. Through lifelike scenarios, students develop critical thinking and clinical judgment in a safe, immersive environment. VR empowers educators to enhance student readiness while easing the burden of limited resources.

What’s next?

The Ready to N.U.R.S.E. campaign is a movement to celebrate, support, and empower both seasoned and new nurse educators. Here’s what you can do:

  1. Attend the Ready to NURSE webinars and check out the blogs
  2. Spread the word by sharing the blogs and webinars on your LinkedIn
  3. Research nurse educators' opinions on how to improve nurse readiness through education

Let’s ensure every nursing student has the support they need to succeed—and every educator gets the recognition and resources they deserve.
